The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) was established in 1993 as the national
external trade promotion agency of Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

The Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) is a statutory body accredited to the Ministry of Plantation
Industries and Commodities. MTIB was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament.
The main objective is to promote and coordinate the overall development of the timber industry.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry was established in April 1956 and situated in Government Office, Jalan Raja.
The Ministry was then renamed the Ministry of Trade and Industry in February 1972. On 27 October 1990, the Ministry was separated into
two Ministries which are Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI); and Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN).
MFPC was established in 2003 by the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities.
The Malaysian Furniture Promotion Council is a specialised promotional body that promotes and develops the Malaysian
furniture industry to establish Malaysia as a globally recognised source of world-class furniture.
The main responsibility of MFPC is to promote and develop the Malaysian furniture industry in order to sustain the
industry’s export as a substantial foreign exchange earning for the national economy.
The merger of two large organizations - the Malaysian Furniture Industry Council (MFC) and Malaysia Furniture Entrepreneur
Association (MFEA) on 20th September 2014, heralds a new and dynamic beginning for the furniture industry and Malaysia with the new council named
as Malaysian Furniture Council (MFC).
The birth of the Malaysian Furniture Council (MFC) marks an important milestone for the development of
the Malaysia's furniture industry. With the completion of the merger, the merged entity represents the Malaysia's furniture industry players as a whole,
which contributing significant amount of furniture exports.
